whistle dosent work,flint rod is missing
Well built, nice case,good design, but could use a bit more quality control ,my kit was missing the fero rod for starting fires, also whistle will not work but not a bad kit for under the car seat or in a bug out bag.

Changed my review
First of all WOW it was delivered to me in a less than 12 hours. Unfortunately, that is the only positive thing about this product. After taking it with me to the camping and actual use, I have realized how useless this product is. The quality is not as I thought it would be. Because there is no instruction it is very confusing on how to use it’s small parts like the screw driver, still kind of a mystery to me. The axe is super dull. This product is a big disappointment. I do not recommend it.

Ax head broke off while chopping tree branch
I was initially hopeful when I purchased this product on Amazon; great price and reviews. How wrong was I! I honestly have no idea how this product has nearly 5-star rating unless the people purchasing this product has not actually used it. I bought 2 of these, one for my son-in-law and one for me. My son-in-law said the axe head came loose after the first use and worried him. He stopped using it. I decided to bring mine on a hiking trip where I would be at least a day hike from help if needed. I initially used the shovel and that did perform as I would have expected. Next I attached the axe head to chop up some firewood. Within a few minutes of use, the axe head flew off the handle and severely sliced my hand. Fortunately I had a first aid kit and someone with me to help dress the wound. The axe head broke off where the handle thread into the axe.If I had only bought this for me I would have been disappointed and would chock this up as a “lesson learned – you get what you pay for”, but I had also bought this as a gift for my son-in-law. If this had happened to them I would not be able to forgive myself.If you purchase this for someone as a gift, please reconsider. If you are purchasing this for yourself, please learn from my lesson. This product has a good chance of injuring you. It injured me. If I could give “0” stars, I would have.

Needs to be inspected better before selling product
I would have given this five stars BUT….Compass fell out of the handle unpacking not enough glue, not a big deal can be fixed easily. The knife is very cheap, but what bothered me the most was on the rope cutting slot at the top of the shovel was not cut out fully and had a curled up piece of metal on half of the blade part (from the factory machine not stamp cutting it fully). Some elbow grease and a round file might fix this, but after spending $60 I was slightly disappointed, it needs to be inspected better before selling!

Cheap material.
I just received this item today, a few hours ago. As I opened the cheap quality bag, by sliding both zippers off, both zippers cracked in the middle and broke off. It is important to note that no force was put on the zippers while opening, they simply teared in the middle with extreme ease. As I removed the tools to inspect them, I noticed they were actually pretty decent and not the same quality as the bag or zippers. Once I placed all items back in the bag and closed the zippers by grabbing them with my fingernails, I noticed one half of the bag/zipper came undone and I was unable to get that closed again. I do not understand the concept of placing heavy tools in such a weak, flimsy, and poor quality bag. Due to the bag’s inability to keep the tools safely in the bag, and the cheap quality zippers, this item is getting a 1 star. It makes no sense to sell a product with a cheap enough bag where you will end up losing the items from inside. (There are several small items that will slip out).

A Great Survival Tool…
This shovel more than meet my expectation at its price point. Very practical, and seem to be strong enough for most jobs; though, I haven’t really put it to the test but it’s overall seeming girth gives me confidence I made a good buy.I also like it’s versatility….great for the frugal shopper who don’t want cheap, but bang for the buck.

Pretty darn good
Honestly… it’s pretty good, not something I’m going to dig a trench to bury wire in or anything but for just general small dirt moving? It’s decent overall, solidly made, pretty long and although the compass isn’t great and I chucked the screwdriver as soon as I could so it didn’t rattle as I moved around with it. I like it a lot! Definitely would go 4-1/2 out of 5 but I can’t, I don’t quite think it hits the 5 star but, I’d recommend it!

Super High Quality + the best gift
I got this as a gift for my boyfriend who loves camping and outdoorsy type activities and he was OBSESSED. Not only is it extremely durable and high quality, but the uses are ENDLESS. He was loving going through the different features and discovering new uses within one shovel. The coolest feature is definitely the flint (fire starter) – we tested it out and it works flawlessly. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is outdoorsy and/or enjoys camping. It’s also a great product to keep in your car incase of emergency.

Not as great as it seems
Thought this was supposed to be an axe but it broke the first time i swung it against a small branch that i was trying to clear. Also the way the shovel connects, the handle (counterclockwise) and actual shovel blade lock (Clockwise) spin opposite of each other. Each time i went to dig the motion of my wrists was enough to loosen either the handle or shovel lock. On top of all this, not all of the smaller components (knife, flint, screw bit etc..) all fit inside when the unit is fully assembled. That was frustrating to me because it encourages the loss of pieces – especially if you’re out on a campsite. I’d recommend doing some research and getting another brand.

Genuinely terrible
I was pretty excited when I got this thinking it’d be a solid multipurpose tool for backpacking. I took the tool on a test run and, boy, was I glad I did! First I used the shovel, it would unscrew from the attachment rod almost immediately after digging a simple hole. Next, used the axe to cut some kindling and branches and that actually was the last attachment I was able to use as the entire rod broke and no longer would screw on any of the other attachments. Had I not taken this on a test run, I would have been caught in the mountains with a useless, broken tool. Do not buy this!

I have tried a few other tools like this and none seemed like they would work under use. This is the first I have seen that seems well made and solid. Package and durability
I saw another one the same price but reviews were hit and miss however the bag was cheap mad and that’s important to me as I don’t have alot of cargo space in my commute bag and it’s got be strapped to my back pack this thing is great though the only thing I have a problem with is the ax is Allen screwed together and came loose using it making the weight feel off balanced I had to use 2 Allen wrenches to tighten it anthems awkward when ur in the dark and have no light source otherwise a strong recommend in my book (btw I have only one use so far will update when I can

Was great on my camping trip
I took this with me in my camping trip and it was truly amazing. I really liked how everything fit into such a small bag. Yet the tools are very large and comfortable to use. I was expecting to get a tiny shovel. But this kit comes with a shovel with a giant sized head. Like you can easily dig a shelter with it. The axe too. Was nice and strong and worked really well. The compass definitely saved me. And the whistle too. But the main part was the flint rod and knife. I keep cotton balls In the extra pockets. Which it comes with a lot of them. And that made it really easy to start a fire the axe made it easy to get fire wood and it kept me warm all night. It had a carry strap so it was easy to carry. And although I didn’t have the opportunity to use the glass breaker yet. I know it could definitely come in handy.. 5 stars.

Great for camping
I took this with me on a camping trip and while I didn’t think I was going to use, I ended up using it the whole time. The shovel itself is not only strong but has a very sharp point at the tip that not only cuts through the ground like nothing but found that it helped with it came to trying to break branches and really anything. The handle is really comfortable to hold but love that I can either make it long or short. I was even able to use this at the beach to dig a fire pit. The axe is very sharp and definitely came in handy for cutting wood for our campfire. Not only did it come with a cover for the axe but it came with a cover for the shovel too. The bag that this comes with really makes it convenient to store everything inside without worrying about losing anything. Great for camping trips and really anything for those just in case of emergencies. Not to mention, made with quality steel as this has not bent, chipped, rusted or cracked at all.

Portable Shovel; Take care with axe
This has a nice portable sized Shovel that is pretty sharp. It feels pretty solid, as well as the axe. The issue of danger for the axe can be about the threaded joint how the axe attaches and how one would use an axe. So, I feel care is needed when using the axe. Overall, it is a nice portable set to take going out in the woods.

Must have tool
This is my second time purchase of shovel and axe tool. I liked it a lot and gifted it to my friend. I like the fact that this tool doesn’t take much space in your car. Like a lunchbox! Also it has two essentials inside namely an axe and a shovel. Also there is a compass and small knifes inside the handle. These sturdy tools will definitely be needed when you are camping or traveling.
