Amazing book that teaches you how to have a true adventure in the wilderness
This book is life changing for every adventurous soul! It teaches you about everything that you’ll need to know to survive in the wilderness. I love how this book goes into detailed information about all the essential knowledge which you have to have in order to survive in the wilderness. It teaches you how to find a perfect place to set a camp at and how to build a shelter. It goes into a detailed explanation on how to make a fire and it even teaches you step by step how to build traps for hunting animals. The author then goes into a detailed explanation on how to prepare your food.It also goes into describing the survival tools that you should bring in order to survive in the wilderness. It teaches you how to get the water and how you can filter and purify it.There is also a very important chapter on first aid which describes what items are essential for your wilderness adventure.Thank you Neil for such an amazing book!

I’m not a boy scout so I when I saw this book I grabbed it!
Hey folks, let’s face it…You never know what might happen out there in life so I think everyone needs to learn skills needed to survive in the wilderness. This book has pretty much everything in it like how to find shelter, building a fire, finding food like fishing and preparing traps to catch your food. The water purification process was pretty cool to read about as well! After reading the first aid section I knew I got my money’s worth right here. If you have kids this section is worth it’s weight in gold!

Excellent little book
Excellent little book. Covers a lot of the basics necessary to stay alive, dry, warm/cool in the wilderness. Remember, human society lives constantly on the very brink of survival…right on the very edge of living in the bush and the precariousness of “modern” society. What has been happening in north Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere in war-torn countries, can happen here. (Here, being…the Untied [yes, untied] States of Central [yes, central] North America…a.k.a. the USA.)

A waste of money
I’m usually fairly easy on book reviews because of the amount of work that goes into them. However, this one is a complete waste of time. It appears that this book was self-published. The print quality is extremely poor and it is rife with grammatical errors indicating a lack of professional editing. The photos are extremely poor quality and have not been color corrected for grayscale printing. The resulting contrast makes most of them all but useless. An increased font size attempts to make up for a lack of content. The content itself appears to be accurate, but it’s mostly elementary. Most topics are given little more than a paragraph’s worth of attention. Others are needlessly inflated to take up space such as the 18-page section devoted to first aid kits that is nothing more than a bullet point list that would have fit in a single page. Meanwhile, sections that could have been expanded with photos such as the butchering section are given just a single page. It seems that there are no photos that couldn’t be found readily on Google Images. There are many better books available in the genre for the price.

Decent
A very basic, but good information guide for beginners of bushcraft. There are grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book. Overall a decent read.

Not worth the money
Beginner is right. The book is short on details and really wasn’t worth my time. I wish I had read the reviews first as it was a bit of an impulse buy. A good book on this subject or these techniques would give enough detail that you could practice them in the back yard or out in your local woods. This is not that book.

Garbage
A terrible book. Waste of time no real information. Best suited to start a survival fire than useful information. Don’t read.
Nelson A. de Oliveira –
Good, but could be improved
Unfortunately the book lacks pictures. For example, when the author explains all the shelter types, there isn’t any kind of picture, photo or anything else to help visualizing and understanding what we should be doing.Having imperial measuring units also doesn’t help.

Thumbs way way down.
This book has a very small amount of useful information. The descriptions are woefully inadequit for the novice to make any use of. I would not suggest this to anyone .Try making a warming fire in your shelter as minimally described, you will understand. Be sure to be able to safely escape your shelter.

I know that this book is geared for the novice, but there should be some photo to go along with the text. Most of what is covered in this book can easily be found online.

More of a heading summary than a guide. It is catogorized but very little detail and no illustrations at all

Short and to the point for anyone who is unsure how to be basically prepared
Maybe the most basic but knowledgeable how to survive in your regular survival situation I would recommend this book to the weekend warriors and the hunters

Although I am somewhat experienced with bushcraft, this book was a great learning tool. It’s very well organized and easy to read and understand yet comprehensive and detailed. I definitely learned new things I cannot wait to put to the test.
