About this item Drink from a Historical Cup – In crafting this kuksa cup, Norse Tradesman follows the ancient tradition of the indigenous Sámi people of northern Scandinavia. Each kuksa is made from solid hardwood and is flame-treated to seal and harden the wood. No two cups look exactly alike. It’s time that you chose a drinking vessel as interesting as you! Hot or Cold Drinks – This cup is entirely handmade. Note that SIZE IS NOT EXACT since each piece is entirely unique. It can be used as a camping bowl, coffee vessel or tea cup. The choice is yours! Travel Size – Each kuksa is completely unique in size since it is hand-carved. Typically, they range from 10-12 oz in fluid capacity, making this kuksa more compact and easy for storage and travel. Handcrafted with Care – The secret ingredient of a finely crafted kuksa is the care that is put into the construction. Our artisans have been fashioning drinking vessels for generations. Each of our beer mugs is scooped, sanded and engraved by hand. Finally, each mug is packaged in a quality medieval burlap sack, making the perfect gift! Bushcraft with a Viking Twist – Our kuksas are hand-engraved with a series of Norse runes which reads “Sweet are the waters of Bolgia & Njord”.

Solid Cup w/ Great Delivery
Robust, thick wood with smooth edges gives me a solid outdoor cup that is easy to drink from. It actually arrived BEFORE it was expected!

I love it!
I love this wooden kuksa. I looked at many kuksas before choosing this one. I’m glad I chose this one–it’s gorgeous. Larger than what I expected. These are perfect for camping. Light weight. But I enjoy using it at home with coffee. It’s not dishwasher safe; should be handwashed/dried. But it’s a nice experience drinking coffee in this. I’m going to buy another one as a gift. These are beautiful.

Love this cup
Well made and looks awsome. I have it on display and is a real talking point with visitors.

Looks amazing, but it’s a better showpiece
The first one that I received came cracked and began leaking very quickly after I received it. The second one also appears to have some weak spots. I have a YouTube channel where I shoot videos about camping, fishing, survival and wilderness skills and I was really hoping to be able to use this cup on all of my camp trips and in many of my videos. I have high hopes for it, but it looks like they may be unfounded.

Undicht!

What a shame!
This kuksa looks amazing but one major flaw, there’s a hole at the bottom which leaks.Looks like it’s been machined and left a hole in the process to which has been filled with something that doesn’t hold liquid.I sent it back immediately.

Bigger than expected!
This thing is awesome. It holds a proper amount of coffee rather than one of those thimble-sized kuksas other people sell. I had my first coffee in it this morning!

Quality
My son and I just moved into our new house, decided to make breakfast then we realized we don’t have nothing to drink orange juice out of, except for this Nordic cup/bowl we purchased. So we used it then I realized I don’t even have a bowl to mix my eggs in so we finished our orange juice and used it to mix or eggs up with. my son decided he wanted a bowl of cereal, again we don’t have a bowl, so once again… we used this beautiful little cup that we got. I can see why it was a vital part of everyday Viking life. It now sits in my display case.

Gives nice vibe
The media could not be loaded.
I couldn’t carve my own kuksa so bought these instead. I like to use them whenever I can. I use everyday at home to drink coffee, but it’s much much nicer to use them outdoor. Make sure you oil them regularly and try not to use soap to much. Treat them like cast iron.

Great for Ren Faire costumd
I was looking for a period appropriate drinking cup for my Ren Faire Costume. When I saw the cup at the Norse Tradesman booth at the Southern Christmas Show I realized it was perfect. Got myself one. Then when I got home decided I needed to purchase more for friends and was thrilled to find them on Amazon! A sturdy, easily seasoned and cleaned, well-made cup that can be attached to my belt either in the burlap bag it comes in or by itself. This cup would also be great for hikers and campers.

Perfect for Kava
Perfectly shaped to be used as a kava drinking “shell”. Will be doing just that with it!

As pictured… I well enough like it.
As pictured. Holds exactly 6 fluid ounces. Came in a nice bag. I’m happy with it. Giving 4 stars just because the description says 9 ounces and it’s only 6 but well enough for what is purposed. Pictures attached.

Wonderful Viking Cub or bowl easy to clean.
easy to clean just put some water in with a drop of Dawn soap and a wash rag, rinse a few times to get soap out and then rinse last time with warm or hot tap water and put it upside down on a towel and let it dry.

Sadly not for drinking.
Sadly it’s a “Kuksa” only for display. The inner walls are covered in some sort of plastic that peels off if you put hot liquids in it, and it smells horrible. As soon as the plastic ends up in your beverage, the wood starts to leak from the wood. If you wish it just for show, then it’s a good item. But if you wish to drink coffee or any other hot liquids from it: DONT bother.

Made in India…False product description.
This was marketed as a bushcraft Scandinavian. It is made in India. Nothing authentic about it. A false marketing scam leading a person to believe it is a bushcraft Scandinavian product. Far from it. Don’t buy it and be mislead like I was.

Csme Cracked
It came with a crack down the side. I had to fill the crack with a special water tight super glue before it could be used

CRACK!
The second time I used it the cup developed a 1 inch long crack from the rim ecextending downward. Leaked all over the front of my shirt when I tilted it up.

Leaky cup!
Mine actually leaks on the bottom, there is a spot right in the middle of the bottom of the cup that leaks!!! Kind of a bummer because outside of that it’s a perfect cup.

Not as advertised
It looked small when I unwrapped it. And I was right. It holds less than 8oz. When it’s supposed to be 11oz. You just can’t trust overseas scammers. Not worth the price.
