    Light and Easy to Setup!

I have not gotten a chance to take this out on a trip yet but I have set this up in my backyard. The tent is very light as I am using it for backpacking trips. Setting up was easy as there is only one set of poles which are very light weight and durable. It is a free standing system and adding on layers of the tent is easy as lifting the end of the pole out of the given socket (hole).I got the dark blue color which I wanted as I like having a darker feel when the sun is beaming down on it.Overall, I like this tent so far. I will update once I have taken it out on a trip.

Perfect alternative to more expensive tents

I camped near Yosemite and it rained hard for 3 hours during the night. I had no problem with the water. It’s quite spacious for me, I’m 5’7″. In the vestibule you can leave your shoes and backpack but I preferred to bring it in when I saw that it was raining. The quality of the materials looks good and in my case it’s not worth investing in something else more expensive.

Lightweight, waterproof and great value for the money (Philmont 2022 tested!)

Folks, Got the Naturehike 1-person tent this summer for my 10 day backpacking trip at the Philmont Scout Ranch with my son’s boy scout troop. My primary reason for selecting the naturehike were the weight, cost and great reviews for durability and weather resistance.I must say this little tent did not disappoint! Weighing less than four pounds it was no problem to carry the tent, the rainfly, stakes and the ground sheet, over a 100 miles in my backpack up in the new Mexico wilderness. In northern New Mexico, late July is monsoon season so it rained on each of those 10 days that we were out there, typically in the afternoons and overnight, including a couple of torrential downpours. This tent performed like a champ and kept me dry every day with no leaks or annoying drops of water inside. The waterproofing is excellent, construction and materials are high quality for a non-premium brand. I am sure I bumped into and tripped over the tent many times but no damage to report.A couple of cons, minor stuff in my opinion: Firstly this is truly a one person tent, “mummy” style, so there is not a whole lot of room inside. You get in there to sleep, or to lie down and take shelter from the elements and that is it. Changing clothes and maneuvering inside was a little challenging, but I found it perfectly acceptable for my purposes as I was not in the tent other for bad weather or sleep. Secondly, with the vestibule flap closed there’s only a small vent for ventilation, it was not an issue for me as nights were fairly cool at the high altitudes where we were typically camping. But I can see the tent getting hot on a warm night with the vestibule closed. So keep that in mind if you plan to do a lot of summertime camping. Lastly the setup and teardown take a bit of time as there are around 14 stakes to put into the ground or pull out, little bit of an annoyance but again not a big deal as the result of this effort is a sturdy and weather resistant shelter.Definitely recommend this as a true 1-person backpacking tent that will keep you dry and warm, and get you a good night’s sleep regardless of the weather.

    Perfect Beginner Tent

The media could not be loaded.

Needed an entry level to start overnight backpacking. This sets up very easy and is more than adequate in size for one person. It rained hard for an hour with no leaks and there was still enough room in the tent from my sleeping set up and to bring my pack and boots in from the vestibule to keep totally dry. The tent packs up fairly small and fits entirely in my 58L pack with plenty of room for all my other gear. While you have to go easy on the zippers so they don’t snag, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this up if you are looking for a budget friendly beginner back packing tent.

Non-paid review! heavily tested 40 nights.

Update at the bottom but it is still highly recommended. It is light and that always takes a hit on durability. Know that upfront and be a little more careful with it because it is super easy to put up and very sturdy and actually durable with a little care. No muscling it in! With that being said it performed in every way it was supposed to and had no issues. It is the easiest tent I’ve ever put up. UPDATE:So I’ve ran it over a year. Anybody who rips or tears or breaks a zipper is putting too much muscle into it. Of course there is A defective product once in a while also. This is the best single man tent you could ever buy. I mean for $109 that is. Waterproof spray everything important twice. I do this with every tent I use every year. I spray the bottom side of the tent and the rain fly and also the footprint. The footprint that comes with the tent is also a really nice addition for $109 tent. I went through hail and tons of rain and wind. The windiest day on the Nebraska plains of the year. just point the tent which is the end where you put your feet directly into the wind. It cuts it like an arrow. I carry it on the back of a motorcycle so it has to be light and compact to be practical. I probably used the tent 40 nights. I can have this tent unpacked and put up including rain fly in 2 minutes. The support pole is one unit which really helps. The rain fly makes a small vestibule by the way. Perfect to keep stuff out of the weather or cook out of the weather without getting out of your tent if it’s super nasty out. And I don’t know why people are complaining about size and weight. First of all the specs are on the advertising picture at the top. If you pick the gray tent it doesn’t have a specifications page but just choose another color and it will tell you. But it is super light and small. As I said before that is the thing, to be very careful putting it up and taking it down. Watch yourself every time you open the zipper to get in. It’s $109 people. If you want to be able to muscle on your tent every time you use it then you do need to spend $500. It is what it is. I did a deep dive researching tents. I’m a very experienced camper and I just wanted to get the right thing. The closest tent is about 300 bucks. And that’s by what I could see. I mean that would have to be used and reviewed still. I’m sure you could match it for 500. All the stakes and pole Are aluminum. There’s two storage pockets inside the tent and a hook at the peak to hang a light or whatever. I don’t usually write long reviews but this is one of those things that deserved it. Thanks and enjoy

    Great with minor flaws

The overall construction of the tent is pretty solid, but one of the lacking parts of the tent it the pole material. The aluminum poles can feel flimsy, but are definitely effective still despite this. I have yet to experience the tent in rainy weather but I would recommend taking a silicone waterproofing spray and using it to reseal all corners and seams as it does get pulled tight when put up correctly. With my experience with the tent, it can also be hard to align the top seam of the rain fly with the poles, as it likes to fall to one side or the other and it can be time consuming to get it equally tightened on both sides. Beyond these few issues, I am loving the tent. I am 5′ 11′ tall with equal torso and leg length, and I am able to sit up straight with my head barely hitting the top of the tent. There is just enough room to stick a backpacking bag in the tent with you (as seen on the photos) and be able to still lay down comfortably. Overall this is a great starter tent for someone wanting to get into backpacking without spending a fortune, or a great tent for your kid to take and be able to beat up with little consequence. I would definitely recommend!

    This thing delivers for less!

This tent is solid and PLENTY of room for one if it’s set up right. (Scale: I’m 5’9” 175#) Could even fit two if they wanted to get cozy. Assembles in less than a minute. (Don’t forget a rock or hammer for the stakes!)It appears to be sufficiently ventilated. I slept with the fly on just to test this. Can’t speak to it’s water resistance, but seams are taped and look tight.Bonus it that it comes with a footprint that buckles to the fly at thee points if you want to forego the tent body and go ultralight. The shape appears to be designed for max wind shearing if it’s staked out properly. It even has three added tie down points higher on the fly for maximum stability.Another reviewer claimed that the vestibule zipper is low and too hard to reach, which is true, however I attached a lanyard to it and solved that problem.Overall, for the money this tent absolutely delivers, I would put it up against anything twice the price or even more. Buy this tent!

    Great value

Incredible value tent. Missing some nice features more expensive brands might carry, but for the price I don’t think it matters. Biggest complaint is the stitching on the stuff sack is clearly not the best and probably won’t last super long, but putting things away gently seems to help. Have only used it about a week total so far, so unsure of durability/lifespan but super pleased so far.

Quick set up, withstands downpours, very warm with rainfly on.

I took this tent on a solo back country fly fishing trip in the NC mountains, Pisgah National Forest, just below the Appalachian trail. The weather was in the mid 80’s, very humid, and we had frequent thunderstorms with torrential downpours. Throughout the weather everything remained dry and while insects sought cover under the fly they did not make it inside the tent itself. In warm weather like this the heat generated inside the tent with the fly up can be overwhelming. I really recommend taking advantage of some of the fly’s external loops and tie guides to them to create as much space and airflow between the fly and the tent. Additionally depending on the direction of the rain, you can keep the fly door open and you should still not get water in the tent, this can help air flow tremendously. I set the tent up in under ten minutes (probably under five but I didn’t time myself). I did sustain an injury during the trip that required me to break camp and depart immediately. The tent came down in two minutes and I just shoved it into my ruck. When I got home I hung everything in the garage to dry and air out. The tent repacked into its bags with plenty of room to spare and I did not have to be ocd about rolling it up tightly. This is a fantastic product for the money. I was very impressed with the quality of all the accoutrements like the guides, clips, etc. I am 5’8 and 250# and had no issue laying in the tent with plenty of space and even kept my ruck (eberlestock one pack) in the tent with me. I would definitely buy a larger version of this tent (3 person) if I was looking for something bigger.

Terrible customer service/no 2-year warranty as claimed

I had this tent for about 18 months and had generally good experiences with it. On my last trip, a section of tent pole bent nearly 90 degrees when it should have been straight. This happened during normal tear down at the end of the trip. I tried contacting Naturehike about submitting a warranty claim and even tried getting customer support through Amazon and they just stopped responding to my emails. So now I’m out a tent when I just need some replacement poles. Could have been an easy resolution and should be covered by the 2-year warranty. I even offered to purchase new tent poles from them but still I hear nothing. Don’t expect any sort of customer support for this product. If you’re serious about buying a good tent, look at some other trusted outdoor brands and save yourself the headache.

Waterproof, super light weight, and so easy to set up

I camped two nights at Shenandoah National Park in early September with my 75lb golden retriever. The 2p tent fits two sleeping pads with no extra space left. It is the perfect size for us (a woman and a dog), but maybe tight for two persons. The first night was hot (~65F) and I took the rainfly down and the inner tent keeps us comfy and well ventilated. It rained the second night, and the tent did a great job of keeping the water out with the rainfly. I particularly like the clip features at the four corners. I left one side clipped and when it rained, I just flipped the other side over the top and clipped them to their base. The set up was super easy, and anyone should be able to do it without reading the instruction.

You probably don’t need anything else

Used for a total of 5 nights backpacking in Iceland. Sets up reasonably quick. Includes footprint which other more expensive options sometimes don’t. No issues with zippers, etc. Fly has lots of adjustment points and I was able to get it drum tight. Rain rolled right off. The ground I was on drained water well, so I can’t give a good opinion on what water infiltration would be like if you’re on a heavy clay surface and it rains heavily. Zero condensation formation; lots of air movement between tent and fly. Reasonably lightweight. Inside is small, but it’s a 1-P tent! You’re not going to be changing clothes easily in here, but I was able to sleep comfortable with my pack and other items stored parallel to my body. Would recommend for most people for most camping situations.

  18. Toby-DToby-D

    Great option for bike packing

Was a bit wary of this brand at first, because I’d never heard/tried it before. But, I did not need worry. This tent is well made and has far exceeded my expectations. It’s just as good as my other much more expensive 2 man hiking tent.I’ve just completed a couple of weeks bike packing with this tent. It performed perfectly. For 1-person tent, there is plenty room inside. Good size vestibule for storing stuff outside, but out of the rain, and also for cooking. Packs down small. Easy to pitch. Can be pitched free standing if required (see second photo). Good ventilation.

  19. adraedinadraedin

    Lightweight, water-resistant, small and well-made.

I was looking for a 1-person tent to take on a 10-day adventure and this fits the bill perfectly – albeit, I do wish there was a black option but Navy Blue looks pretty tight. It’s lightweight, well-made, takes up little space in my bag, it sets up quickly and I expect that it will stand up to the rain that I look forward to.The complete package weighs in at 3.4kgs.When packed, it’s less than half the size of a sleeping bag – maybe closer to 1/3 the size.It comes with the footprint for the tent – which was an especially nice touch because I thought I’d have to purchase one separately. With no instructions, I put it together on my front lawn in roughly 15 minutes. I could have been faster – but I also could have taken a bit more time to optimize the peg placement/tie down strings. Take the extra time to make sure that you’ve placed the pegs properly and secured the fasteners for a nice smooth floor. Don’t forget the clips on the side of the tent to pull the tent walls out and a little velcro *prop* above the door to open a window for airflow.Inside there is a spot on the roof to clip on a lantern or anything else you might want to hang. There is a pocket on each side of the tent by the doors for easy access to things. There is a clip the secure the doors open for a nice chill view.In the peg bag, you’ll find some extra cordage & three loops – I believe these are for the three zippers on your tent but I’m not 100% sure on that. I suspected that they could be a small *tool* to assist in pulling out hard-to-remove pegs. I dunno; unclear. Also, setup only required 8 pegs, leaving me with 4 extras. You can leave those behind if you wanted to save a wee bit of weight. For the sake of the pictures I took, I’d only thrown an inflatable sleeping pad in the tent to see how much space would be left – and it’s not much. I imagine it will be very tight in there with the rest of my gear/my pack – I feel like I’ll have to empty my pack of contents and spread it along the walls of the tent but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. There’s room to sit up comfortably and shift around a little bit but it is a small space. That said, I won’t take points away from a small tent for not being spacious – it’s designed to serve the function of keeping you safe from the elements and give you a safe place to sleep and to that effect it does it very well.I am very happy with my purchase and I look forward to updating my review in 6 weeks with how well it served me on my adventure. Thanks for making a high quality product, Naturehike.

Decent tent but NOT 3 season in Scottish highlands

I bought two of these tents for myself and my son. They were totally fine for some summer expeditions in Lochaber and Knoydart areas. For a one person tent, a very decent size with tolerable headroom. It’s also quick and easy to set up.However … I took my tent on the Cape Wrath Trail and things didn’t go well. The first rough weather night I was in quite a sheltered spot on the River Carnach. The winds were still pretty strong and eventually the spine broke at the 3 way socket which links the poles. A bit of jerry-rigging and it survived the night. However a few nights later at the campsite in Shiel Bridge another stormy night blew in and it was an awful experience. I had to wrap my head torch strap round my wrist, attach it to the ceiling hook and sleep on my side. When the tent got blown over, it’d pull my arm with it, waking me up. I’d then hold the pole in place till the gust subsided a bit. At some point during the long night, the damaged pole escaped its hole and tore through the flysheet. The moral of the story … in Scotland this is a 2 season tent at best. It’s worth saying that the waterproofing was excellent. Despite torrential rain and even the flysheet getting ripped, the inside of the tent stayed completely dry. Perhaps there’s some design enhancement which could take it up a season but for use in the highlands and likely mountainous parts elsewhere in the UK its best thought of as a late spring to late summer tent.Lastly, there don’t seem to be spares available on Amazon so I can’t get a replacement flysheet or pole setup.

Water resistance is not as good as it promotes

Light weight and design is ok. Internal space is big enough but the rainfly got very wet inside even no rain, only damp outside. And the zipper doesn’t work smoothly. I have to look for another one.

    So far so good

I just purchased this product as a second backpacking solo tent and so far so good. Assembly is incredibly easy, literally should take less than two minutes for anyone with any prior tent set up experience. The weight is as described, I put it on the scale and it came in at 57oz. ie., 3.56 pounds. Materials seem ok. Don’t know yet about durability, but will update after my next backpacking trip later this fall. Also can’t comment on how waterproof it is yet, but I will say that my standard practice with any nylon tent is to apply seam sealer before first use, thus I don’t foresee any issues since 99% of tent leaks (provided no rips in rain fly) occur at the seams. Therefore, if you just take the time upfront to apply seam sealer, you can easily avoid a miserable wet experience with just about any tent.

EZ set up and stayed dry

My go to when wet out: I go with my Mountain Hardware 1/2 dome bivy when dry, but this tent is the best when wet. Stayed perfectly dry. Note that it’s not a free standing tent, and you need to know how to anchor the tent floor tight for the maximum space. But it’s about the same difficulty as my free standing tent. Pretty light, or spend more and go with Nemo (x3 expensive) that’s about 23 the weight of this tent.

    Pretty good for the price!

Used it once so far. Very easy to set up. Held up pretty nicely in heavy wind. The sides seem to come in…need to use the lines to hold them out.

    WIND STORM RESISTANT

This tent saved my life! I went camping off an island at Lake Powell and in the middle of the night it got to about 20 MPH winds and I was having a panic attack thinking I wouldn’t make it. Well this tent withstood all the wind and rain- I never had any sand in the tent and it was nice and toasty in my little fort. Really love this thing- I would recommend setting it up at least once before using it because I was a tad confused setting it up for the first time in the dark.

great value for lightweight backpacking tent

If cost is not an issue for you, then buy the Nemo Hornet. For those with budget constraints, this is an excellent second option. It is almost as lightweight as the Nemo, is of quality construction and materials, and is easy to set up. My first and only use so far was in temperature around 40 degrees under clear skies, so I cannot say for certain how it would perform in rain, wind, or extreme cold. But it is a good design, so I believe it would do well if set up in a good location. I am 5’9″, 180 lbs and the 1 man model was plenty roomy enough for me.

    Backpacking Tent

Tent was great on a recent backpacking trip. Tent pegs won’t last forever, because of being lightweight aluminum. I broke one pounding it in. Overall, I am satisfied with it. There are more expensive brands, but this one worked for me.

Great, easy to pack tent. Setup was easy enough, but a helping hand is appreciated here. The instructions however, leave something to be desired. Also, you could fit two people in here, so bring your other person with you.

    Good Value!

Just finished my first backpacking trip with this tent. Excellent value, nicely constructed for the price and easy set up. We had nice weather so I wasn’t able to test the claim to be a four season tent. (It seems to me to be a little lightweight for extreme weather conditions) The vestibule is small so hardly room for your backpack. The outer stuff bag is a little flimsy to hold up for long if you put your tent outside of your backpack while hiking.

    Light, durable and wet

Great tent for half the price of comparable lightweight models. Looks good, easy to setup and feels durable. Only complaint is a good amount of condensation build up on the inner part of the rain fly on damp nights/mornings. All in all good quality for the price.

    Great tent for the price.

This tent is great for a single person. I am 5ft 7in, the fit was perfect for my size giving me roughly 8 inches or so of head room and enough room for my duffle bag. The tent was used during the fall. The added tarp for the bottom kept the tent from getting moisture build up and did quite will at keeping the wind out.

    Great Tent

It’s easy to put up, stays dry in storms, and packs away quickly. Granted after many uses this isn’t the best tent for me (it’s my fault for not reading the aspects closely), but if you’re over 5’9″ you may be a but cramped. I’m 6’1″ 150 lbs” and there is no room for me to move around inside the tent. If you’re shorter though I would recommend it for sure!

Good quality at a reasonable price.

Only slept in it once. Bought it for a October hike out west. It was roomy for a one person tent. The directions were poor, but once I figured it out it was an easy setup.I believe I can set it up in under five or six minutes.I left it set up to see how it would stand up to thunderstorms. It went through 2 of them with no issues at all.It seems to be worth the cost. I will know more after my two week trip.

    Very drafty.

This tent is advertised as a 4 season tent. However there is way too much screen for air to flow through verse the solid nylon that does not allow air to flow through. So it feels very drafty if the canopy is not perfectly sealed to the ground and that makes for a terrible nights sleep when it is below freezing outside with a slight wind. The outer canopy zipper is hard to reach from the inner tent because it sits so low. It would have been nice to have that zip up to close instead of zipping down. The construction seems sturdy.

Great value current design tent 20D Polyester fabric 3 pole hang design

This tent is one of the many current designs where the fly “hangs” on a 3 pole structure, with fly overtop. This model uses the most current 20D fabric with silicone impregnation, and is very nice. Note the Red and White tent is the only Naturehike CloudUp design using this fabric, which is ultralight polyester, the others are higher weight nylon (nylon sags a bit when wet.) Design is great and overall it’s a great value. Light weight and you will use the footprint. Recommended.

Great tent! Affordable, well made, easy to put up and take down.

Each time i use this tent i discover something else I love about it. Secret side pockets inside for you to stow items. The sides are pulled up off the ground, so if it rains heavy, your tent won’t flood. Tall ceiling so i can sit up and stretch. Good airflow. I still can’t believe the price of this tent!

    Quick Easy Set-Up

I am gathering my equipment for hiking the Camino and PCT-I know two different kinds of hikes from what I read. As soon as I opened the box, I put the footprint down and the tent up in 5 minutes. It was easy and the head room in the tent is great! I am 5’2 and it looks like I will be able to put my back pack in the tent with me.

Could have been a good tent, but mine arrived damaged.

I had high hopes for this tent. It is lightweight and compact. However, the carry bag was cut, the zipper is weak and would bind, and I began to question the durability. So, I returned it.

Design fault. No good in a storm

Sadly, this lovely lightweight tent has a design fault. The ridgepole has no connection to the fly. Consequently, in a storm it will blow itself flat. The picture shows the tent in a storm. I’ve braced the ridgepole with white tape (you’re looking at my 7th attempt which worked) and this tells me the design problems could easily be fixed. Until they are I would recommend that you do not buy it.Note: people’s ideas of storms may be different, you may say some reviews here that have the tent preforming well in bad weather. It definitely won’t last/keep you warm or dry in a moderate to severe wind conditions.

    not a FREE STANDING TENT!

I tried twice to order the upgraded free standing 1 person tent, as described in the information. It was NOT, and was a very awkward set-up. Finally, they responded the 1 person tent was not freestanding in the upgraded version, despite being said it was free standing. I bought this twice, and wasted valuable time sending them back, etc. – based on a lie.

    Great product for the money.

So far I’ve used this product 3 times all in the winter months with temps getting into the low 20’s high teens. Condensation does form quite a bit if there’s no breeze but that’s any tent. I’m 6’0 and have plenty of room left for me and my gear in the tent. The tent is easy to set up and comes with a great footprint. The tent seems to be made very well! Have had no issues so far. Haven’t been in a rain event to test waterproofing but I’m not worried! As a hammock camping for most of my life I wanted to give tents another try, but I didn’t want to break the bank but I wanted a light setup. This tent is your solution.

Did lots of reviews ideal for price!!! Let’s see how she does in Gail force Colorado winds at alpine 🙂 will update! Bottom floor was slick due to nylon but I wanted durability there’s also only a little room in the tent. If you’re taller than 5ft6 I’d recommend going to 2p. Great Tent, but I opted for the 2-person model

While I do like this company and product, I found the 1-person to be a little tight for my purposes. I like to keep gear inside and outside my tent. For that reason, I returned this one and went with the 2-person model. Negligible weight increase and I get the room I need. This is still a great tent, though!

Heavier than expected but a lot of tent for the price.

First the bad, I expected it to be somewhat heavy but its heavier than I expected. With the stakes and ground sheet this tent was 3 lbs 5 oz. I had read several reviews saying it was under 3 lbs. I’m wondering if the gray version is lighter. Secondly, it smells like burning tires. I’m sure when it airs out that will go away, but dang, it’s strong. The good is it’s roomy for a 1p tent and it seems well made. In fairness, for the price, it’s probably the lightest, and best designed 1p tent available now.

    i quite like it!

I hardly write reviews but was so pleased with this on a recent overnight backpacking trip. I hope it lasts a long time. There was a lot of thought that went into the construction and pieces it comes with. If backpacking, i’d say take out a few of the stakes in advance to reduce your weight, as i only ended up needing 6. Would recommend!

    Nice one person tent

I have used this tent twice now. Very easy to assemble. Plenty of room for a 5’11 220lbs person. Seems to be quality construction for the price you pay. Stood up to 40mph gusts easy. It did get a bit cold though. The mesh on the front door of the tent goes from top to bottom, allowing cool drafts to come into the tent from under the bottom of the rain fly and through the mesh door. A panel, and not mesh, on the lower half of the door would keep this tent warmer, imo. Overall, good tent for a good price.

I just got this tent. I set it up in my backyard just to get a feel for it. I was able to put it up Fairly quickly. It looked to be of Good quality. I only had it up for 30 minutes, so I can’t say how it holds up to weather. I bought it, because I needed an affordable, ultralight tent for a backpacking trip. When I get back, I will add an edit to tell how it held up.

Great tent for price, provided bag too small

For the price this tent is really great and affordable, I use it pretty much every night for my job in conservation. After about a month of use the zipper on the rainfly broke and I often find myself messing with it at night before I go to sleep, but it’s otherwise a really nice lightweight tent for much cheaper than other options. I’m knocking off a star both for the zipper and because the bag provided is awful – it’s way too small and every time I have to fold the tent exactly right to put it back in that little bag it feels like an ordeal.
